How to Join PMINYC
To join PMINYC, you must be a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Join PMINYC when you first join PMI or add the chapter to your membership at any time. Here are instructions:
Join the Project Management Institute and the NYC Chapter
Total Cost: $174
- Go to the PMI Become a Member page.
- Click Join PMI or Renew Today
- Click Join or Renew Now and enter the requested info.
- When you get to the “PMI Local Chapter” page, enter New York City in the “Chapters Located Near You” field.
- Select the New York City Chapter checkbox.
- Optionally select the Chapter Directory checkbox.
- Click Continue.
- Enter your billing and payment info and complete your purchase.
Add the NYC Chapter to your PMI Membership
Total Cost: $35
If you’re already a PMI member, you can add PMINYC membership:
- Log in to PMI.
- Select Membership > Local Chapters.
- Scroll to the “Join a PMI Chapter” section.
- You should see “New York City Chapter.” If you don’t, enter New York City in the “Search Chapters” field. Click Join Chapter.
- Click Add to Cart and then Checkout.
Are you a student or retiree? If so, then you might also qualify for Student or Retiree membership rates. Please visit the PMI website to learn more about eligibility and cost.

Membership Renewal
Your chapter member is synchronized by PMI so that, regardless of when you joined the chapter, both your Chapter and PMI memberships end on the same date. When you renew, you can renew your PMI and Chapter memberships for a full year.
Just sign in to the PMI website, navigate to your account information, and follow the prompts to renew!
Note that your membership status is managed by PMI - the information is typically transmitted to our chapter in 1-2 business days. As a new or renewed member it may take up to 3 business days to access PMINYC.ORG.
