Greetings PMINYC Members,

There is so much going on both in the project management community in general and PMINYC specifically, that we often don't take the time to smell the roses, and celebrate our successes. So, I am taking the time now to publicly commend the volunteer team that put together the recent successful Professional Development Day (see article), the website team that has put together a twenty-first century website that we can all be proud of, and the Baseline newsletter team that restarted and reinvigorated the chapter's newsletter. Communication and collaboration are so important to a growing
organization.

I must say, that it is also great to see so many different, new and familiar faces at the chapter events. As we discussed in our ‘networking icebreaker” during the October
Chapter meeting, there is much to learn, share and discuss as the impact of the global
financial situation begins to manifest itself and the demands for more and better project
management continues to rapidly grow. If you didn’t get a chance to read the
“Complexity in Project Management” article in PMI Today (October 2008 edition), do
take a minute to scan it. It reinforces the discussions that we have been having all year
about customer expectations for faster delivery, despite the increasing complexity of the
projects and operating environments (Baseline, February 2008).
Enjoy the upcoming chapter activities and I look forward to personally greeting you
again at next month’s chapter meeting!

Stephanie
